All students are expected to:
- Be respectful of others at all times.
- Lead by example.
- Wear the karate gi properly. If a student has not received his or her gi yet, he or she is to wear comfortable, loose clothes suitable for exercising.
- Remove shoes before entering the training area.
- Remove all jewelry. Students with long hair should have it pulled back.
- Refrain from chewing gum or candy of any kind while training.
- Alert instructors of any injury, potential problem or other important information before class begins
- Line up in order of rank and time in class when it is time for class to begin. If students hold the same rank, the one that has had the rank longer goes first.
- Refrain from talking out of turn during class.
- Be positive.
- Be courteous and helpful to new students.
- Listen to ALL instructors
- Know the student creed and follow what it teaches in and out of karate class.
- Refrain from starting trouble or letting themselves get into trouble. Students are to avoid confrontations and avoid putting themselves in danger. Students are to alert an adult or someone in authority to help with potential problems.
- Refrain from criticizing other martial arts or instructors. Everyone is entitled to his or her own beliefs. Students are to try listening and watching.
- Kumite (spar) ONLY with the proper safety equipment. We may loan head gear, hand gear, foot gear and chest protectors, but every student MUST have their own mouth guard (and groin protector for male students) in order to participate.
- Always do their best!
All rules and regulations are in the best interest of our karate students.
